| I became a teacher at IPA in April of 2007. I think it's a terrific
study environment for all types of students. I consider myself to be a
"professional" English teacher and so am serious about helping my students
progress! After 8 years, I'm quite comfortable living in Japan, know quite a
lot about the country, and so it's very easy for me to relate to my students.
Of course, my first love is Australia. I love to chat with my students about

| Since joining IPA earlier this year I’ve been very fortunate in meeting
and working with an exceptional group of highly motivated students who are
eager to share their interests and experiences. I’ve learned a lot from them
about the culture here and about some of the special difficulties facing the
Japanese student learning English. I always try to adjust my teaching to best
fit the learning styles and the needs of my students. I also have had many
years of business experience to draw on for my classes. While I diligently
prepare for my classes, we still laugh and have a good time in class while we

| ただ外国語（英語）をしゃべれるだけで、良い語学の講師になれるわけではない。質の良い講師とは自分に厳しく、どのようにすればもっと良い講師になれるかという質問をいつも心がけているものです。そして、とても大事なのは次のような要素が挙げられます。 |

| 1) | 国際的な考え方
外国語を勉強するのに国際的な考え方が必要です。なぜならば、言語の中にはその言語を使う国の文化も入っているからです。このように外国語を勉強するのには頭の柔軟性が大事です。講師がそのような国際的な考え方を生徒さんに教える事は大事です。 |
| | 2) | 語学力と言語についての知識
外国語を教えるのに語学力はもちろん、言語についての知識もとても大事だと思います。言語についての知識があれば、自分が持っている語学力をもっとうまく生徒さんに伝える事が出来ます。逆にもし語学の知識が足りなければ、自分の語学力がいくらあっても自分の生徒にうまく伝えることが出来ません。 |
| | 3) | 経験；外国語を教える経験と外国語を勉強する経験
教える経験はもちろん、外国語をどのように勉強すれば上達するかという疑問を一番理解できるのは外国語を勉強した（そして成功した）人だと思います。ですから、もし講師が外国語を勉強した経験があれば、生徒さんの立場をもっと理解出来ると思います。 |

語学講師になりたい、そして続けていく理由はたくさんあります。質の良いレッスンを続けていける講師の秘訣は、いつも生徒さんの立場から考えて、生徒さんの勉強を本気で手伝いたい、更に生徒が自分の授業に満足して帰るのを見たいという気持ちを常に心がけていることだと思うのです。 | |
